Mac OS X Lion Is Out

One of the features of OS X Lion that was discussed early on in its development was the updated text-to-speech technology that not only brings much more natural-sounding voices, but also has options for dialect and accent support for various regions of the world. Since early in the Classic Mac OS, Apple has supported text-to-speech technology, with very basic and robotic output that has improved over the years, but with Lion the technology takes a relatively major leap forward.

The system ships with some default voices, including the long-standing novelty ones such as laughing, whispering, bells, and alien voices, but now includes the option to enable high-quality male and female voices that mimic accents from numerous areas of the world. These include numerous European languages, Eastern European, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, other Asian languages, world variations of English (Indian, Australian, U.K., U.S., and more), and Middle Eastern languages like Arabic and Turkish.

Apple Speech Preferences

Apple's new voices are available along with all the older voices (click for larger view).

The enhanced languages are a bit large at between 300MB and 1GB each. Like other aspects of the OS such as Java, Apple has made them available for download through the OS. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Speech system preferences

  2. Select the "Text to Speech" tab

  3. Click the "System Voices" menu and choose Customize

  4. Check the boxes of voices you would like (you can preview them by selecting them and clicking "Play")

If the voice is high-quality then there will be a yellow triangle warning next to it, indicating the voice will need to be automatically downloaded.

  5. Click OK when you have your desired voices

Software Update voice download

Voices will download through Software Update.

The system will automatically launch Software Update and install the desired voices when you click OK, after which you will be ready to use your new voices. Now just go to an application that supports Apple's Text to Speech (such as TextEdit, Safari, or Mail), select some text, and then right-click it and choose "Start Speaking" from the Speech submenu. This option should also be available in one of the application's menus, such as the Edit menu.

Fake Apple Store

Customers at an Apple Store in the Chinese city of Kunming berated staff and demanded refunds on Friday after the shop was revealed to be an elaborate fake, sparking a media and Internet frenzy.
When I heard the news I rushed here immediately to get the receipt, I am so upset," a customer surnamed Wang told Reuters, near tears. "With a store this big, it looks so believable who would have thought it was fake?"

Wang, a petite, 23-year-old office worker who would not give her first name, spent 14,000 yuan ($2,170) last month buying Macbook Pro 13-inch and a 3G iPhone from the Kunming store. She wasn't issued a receipt at the time, with staff telling her to come back later.

"Where's my receipt, you promised me my receipt last month!" Wang shouted at employees, before being whisked away to an upstairs room.

Staff were also angry at the unwanted attention after more than 1,000 media outlets picked up the story and pictures of the store from the BirdAbroad blog.

"The media is painting us to be a fake store but we don't sell fakes, all our products are real, you can check it yourself," said one employee, who didn't want to give his name.

"There is no Chinese law that says I can't decorate my shop the way I want to decorate it."

UNWANTED ATTENTION

While upset at the coverage and unwilling to be fully identified, staff were cooperative when Reuters visited the store on Friday, answering questions and allowing the store to be filmed.

Another employee, surnamed Yang, said business had been affected, with customers demanding they prove the authenticity of their products.

Apple has declined to comment on the fake store or others like it dotted around China. The Cupertino, California-based firm has just four genuine Apple Stores in Beijing and Shanghai and none in Kunming.

With about 3.2 million inhabitants, Kunming, the capital of the mountainous southwestern province of Yunnan, is small by Chinese standards and not well known in the West.

Located not far the borders of Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar, the city's fast-growing industrial and manufacturing base is emblematic of China's ascent on the world stage. Kingdom of the Little People, a theme park featuring slapstick performances by people with dwarfism, is nearby.

The fake Apple Store is situated along a crowded pedestrian-only shopping street, its black Apple logo gleaming. Inside, with its Apple posters on the walls and iPads and Macbook computers displayed on wooden tables, the store looks every bit like Apple Stores found all over the world but for some slightly shoddy workmanship and one or two errant details.

Not all customers were bothered by the revelations that the store was not the genuine article.

"As long as their products are real its okay -- after all, you enter a store not to look at anything except their products," said Hu Junkai, 18. "If the products you buy are real why do you care whether the store is a copy?"
Wang was not convinced.

"The biggest thing I'm upset about is that I spent so much money at this store and I don't even know whether it is real or not," she said.

"What can I do? They aren't going to give me a refund."

NATO Computer Server Accessed By HACKERS

The computer hacker group Anonymous says it has broken into NATO computer servers.

On July 20-21, the group published two apparently official NATO documents online, saying "we have lots of restricted material... In the next days, wait for interesting data."

A Twitter post later claimed: "We are sitting on about one Gigabyte of data from NATO now, most of which we cannot publish as it would be irresponsible."

Germany's DPA news agency quoted an unnamed NATO official as saying the alliance was aware of the security breach, and condemning it.

Anonymous has previously been linked with Internet service attacks. Suspected group members have been arrested on hacking-related charges in Britain, Holland and most recently in the United States.

Suspected 'Anonymous' Hackers Homes Raided By FBI

The FBI executed search warrants at the New York homes of three suspected members of notorious hacking group Anonymous early Tuesday morning.More than 10 FBI agents arrived at the Baldwin, N.Y., home of Giordani Jordan at 6:00 a.m. EST with a search warrant for computers and computer-related accessories, removing at least one laptop from the premises. The agents spent an hour and 40 minutes at Jordan's house; other agents investigated a second Long Island, N.Y., home and one in Brooklyn, N.Y
Jordan's system was identified as allegedly being used in a coordinated distributed denial of service attack against several companies, a law enforcement official had told us.The targets of the FBI searches are all in their late teens to early 20s. Tuesday's search warrants were part of an ongoing investigation into Anonymous, which claimed responsibility for attacks against a variety of websites including Visa and Mastercard. Anonymous is a loose collection of cybersavvy activists inspired by WikiLeaks and its flamboyant head Julian Assange to fight for "Internet freedom" -- along the way defacing websites, shutting down servers, and scrawling messages across screens web-wide.

The Anonymous vigilante group turned its effects to Arizona police department in late June, posting personal information of law officers and hacking and defacing websites in response, the group claims, to the state's controversial SB1070 immigration law.
While Anonymous is largely a politically motivated organization, splinter group LulzSec -- which dominated headlines in the spring for a similar streak of cyberattacks -- was largely in it for the thrills.
The metropolitan police in London arrested the first alleged member of the LulzSec group on June 20, a 19-year-old teen named Ryan Cleary. Subsequent sweeps through Italy and Switzerland in early July led to the arrests of 15 more people -- all between the ages of 15 and 28 years old.
The two groups are responsible for a broad spate of digital break-ins targeting governments and large corporations, including Japanese technology giant Sony, the U.S. Senate, telecommunications giant AT&, and other government and private entities.

Apple Has An Record iPad Sales

Trading at record levels ahead of its quarterly earnings report this afternoon, Apple is expected by Wall Street watchers to post its best June quarterly earnings ever, with nearly $25 billion in revenue on sales of 16.5 million iPhones.

A total of 47 analysts polled ahead of today's earnings expect, on average, for Apple to report revenue of $24.92 billion, representing a 58.7 percent year-over-year increase. That number would also be Apple's best non-holiday quarter ever, narrowly edging the $24.67 billion the company sold in this year's March quarter. Market watchers have predicted Apple will post $5.80 earnings per share in its third quarter of fiscal 2011.

On average, analysts expect Apple to report sales of around 16.5 million iPhones, according to StreetAccount data relayed by Piper Jaffray. That would be nearly double the iphone the company sold in the same quarter a year ago.

Analysts are also calling for Apple to sell a record 4.2 million Macs in the June quarter. That sum would best the 4.1 million Macs Apple sold in the holiday quarter of 2010.

It's also projected to be a record quarter for iPad sales, as Wall Street anticipates the company announcing sales of 7.8 million units of its hot-selling touchscreen tablet. That would be a half-million units more than the previous high of 7.3 million sold in holiday 2010.

Apple tipped its hand on iPad sales in early June, when the company announced at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference that total sales of the device had topped 25 million. At that pace, Apple was on track to sell more than 8 million iPads in the June quarter, though overall analyst predictions are slightly lower.

Earnings
Finally, the Street sees Apple reporting sales of 8.4 million iPods in the quarter. The company's June gross margins are expected to be around 39 percent.

Looking forward, a total of 44 analysts polled expect Apple's September quarter to see the company reach new heights with $27.7 billion in total revenue, with $6.42 earnings per share. Total revenue for the fiscal year concluding with the September quarter is expected to top $100 billion, with the average prediction at $103.83 billion.

Apple will report its earnings later today after markets close at 4 p.m. Eastern.

Kootol targets Microsoft, Appl

More than 30 companies, including the likes of Microsoft, Apple, and IBM have been targeted by India-based Kootol Software for allegedly violating technology covered in a patent application. App developers are withdrawing their products for sale from the US versions of Apple's App Store and Google's Android Market for fear of being sued by companies which own software patents - just as a Mumbai-based company has made a wide-ranging claim against Microsoft, Apple, Google, Yahoo and a number of other companies over Twitter-style feeds, for which it claims it has applied for a patent.

So far the list of targeted companies includes Amazon, AOL, Apple, Bebo, Bharti Airtel, ExactTarget, Facebook, Ford Motor, Foursquare, Google, IBM, The Iconfactory, LinkedIn, Microsoft, MySpace, Ning, Nokia, Peek, PopBox, Quora, Research In Motion, Salesforce, Seesmic, Siemens, Sina.com, StatusNet, TwitPic, Twitter, Ubermedia, Webaroo Technology, Yahoo, and Yammer. Now developers in Europe are retreating from the US to avoid the expense and concern such "patent trolls" are causing.

In addition to above companies we are also in process of sending informative notice to several other companies and developers, who are using our technology, to convey them to examine & settle the matter. We also welcome all the companies and developers for the licensing.Software patent owners in the US have latched onto potential revenue streams to be earned from independent developers by suing over perceived infringements of their intellectual property - which can be expensive for developers to defend even if they are successful.

The Company has founded in 2010 by Rathod Brothers. Companyhas entered into an exclusive patent license agreement with Mr. Yogesh Rathod in respect of US Patent Application No. 11/995,343 titled "A Method and System for Communication, Advertising, Searching, Sharing and Dynamically Providing a Journal Feed". The corresponding patent has been also filed in India, Canada and Europe (EPO). This exclusive license agreement is for the one of the embodiment (part) of the patent, which allows exclusive patent license rights to the company for a unique core technology providing a dynamic and real-time communication technology.

Use Of Internet Affects Memory

The scientists, led by Betsy Sparrow, an assistant professor of psychology at Columbia, wondered whether people were more likely to remember information that could be easily retrieved from a computer, just as students are more likely to recall facts they believe will be on a test.

Dr. Sparrow and her collaborators, Daniel M. Wegner of Harvard and Jenny Liu of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, staged four different memory experiments. In one, participants typed 40 bits of trivia — for example, “an ostrich’s eye is bigger than its brain” — into a computer. Half of the subjects believed the information would be saved in the computer; the other half believed the items they typed would be erased.

The subjects were significantly more likely to remember information if they thought they would not be able to find it later. “Participants did not make the effort to remember when they thought they could later look up the trivia statement they had read,” the authors write.

A second experiment was aimed at determining whether computer accessibility affects precisely what we remember. “If asked the question whether there are any countries with only one color in their flag, for example,” the researchers wrote, “do we think about flags — or immediately think to go online to find out?”

In this case, participants were asked to remember both the trivia statement itself and which of five computer folders it was saved in. The researchers were surprised to find that people seemed better able to recall the folder.

“That kind of blew my mind,” Dr. Sparrow said in an interview.

The experiment explores an aspect of what is known as transactive memory — the notion that we rely on our family, friends and co-workers as well as reference material to store information for us.

“I love watching baseball,” Dr. Sparrow said. “But I know my husband knows baseball facts, so when I want to know something I ask him, and I don’t bother to remember it.”

The Internet’s effects on memory are still largely unexplored, Dr. Sparrow said, adding that her experiments had led her to conclude that the Internet has become our primary external storage system.

“Human memory,” she said, “is adapting to new communications technology.”

FEAR 3 Scares The Hell Out Of You

Hey you guys out there do you feel like you were getting too much sleep at night? Day 1 studios has a solution for you — FEAR 3. FEAR series has always been a strange adaptation of the First Person Shooter genre, with Monolith Games mixing military-style tactical shooting with horror jump scares in a combo that works together real well. some may think FEAR 3 as survival horror, but they really are more first-person shooters than anything, and that’s especially true of the third game in the franchise.

You play as Point Man, the protagonist of the first game, and in the opening sequence you are rescued from captivity by the spirit of Paxton Fettel, the brother you killed at the end of that first game. While Point Man uses guns and grenades to fight, Fettel is equipped with telekinesis and the ability to possess enemies, using their weapons against them or even blasting them apart from the inside. The brothers make for an interesting variation on two-player co-op in a FPS game, with each character having a different combat strategy than the other.

During single-player mode, you will move cleanly from guns blazing firefights to absolutely gut-wrenching walks through utterly terrifying mazes of horror only to be moved into a fight for your life against monstrosities. The gameplay rewards players based on performance and how you play; unlocking many achievements and challenges that will progressively give you more health and abilities to fight your enemies. If you’re playing by yourself, after you’ve completed a level in the game you can play it again as Fettel, who can use telekinesis and possess enemies, which at least doubles the replayability of the game. You cannot switch back and forth between the two brothers in the middle of the game.

This is for all you hardcore gamers out there but guys don't play this alone and with your head phones on that is gonna scare the hell out of you and the best part is that its all a game :) and here is a video trailer of the game and so enjoy guys hala.

Make Time Invisible By Cloaking It

A group of physicists has created time cloaking that is able to hide an event from time itself. The breakthrough comes from Moti Friedman and other researchers at Cornell University. The how part of the way the time cloak works gets very heady indeed. Apparently, the cloak is able to work thanks to a duality between space and time in electromagnetic theory. There is a lot more to the how but the works of the system the team created boils down to a time lens made using electro-optic modulator that can magnify or compress in time.

We see things using light, of course, namely as light scatters on an object. Using materials with a negative index of refraction, experiments have been able to create an 'invisibility cloak' for objects, which is certainly exciting. The downside is they are not in the visible range so Romulans are not going to be invading Earth any time soon.

Schematics of the temporal cloak using a pair of split time-lenses (STL). The STL's are used to create a temporal 'hole' in a probe beam such that any temporal or spectral changes caused by an event within this hole do not occur. The figure is oriented such that the probe light is described by horizontal lines, and lines at different orientations represent different wavelengths. D denotes the magnitude of the total negative or positive group-velocity dispersion.

The cloak places two lenses in a series and sends a beam of light through the lenses, the first lens compresses the light in time and the second decompresses it again. Someone observing the light would view what comes out of the second lens as undistorted as if no event had occurred. The net effect is that the space between the two lenses deletes changes that occur in a short period. Right now, the time cloak only lasts for 110 nanoseconds and the researchers say that the best they can do is 120 microseconds.

I dono about you guys i certainly want to be invisible so lets all hope that its out soon and v can all see it and enjoy it :)......

COLD WAR BETWEEN FACEBOOK AND GOOGLE+

Oh ya guys the cold war is on ya certainly between Google+ and Facebook. It is so so good to see finally these two social networking giants competing. This so awesome that Google+ or which i will use G+ terminology in this post is just the lab and left out as a trial but it has 10 million users. I can see that MARK is not so happy about things happening. There is lost happening in the past weeks which was like a cold war and which has made people say that G+ is better than Facebook.

What do you guys know G+ is on its heel to blow every one's mind off its great POST, STREAM, HANGOUT and all other stuffs are awesome oh ya they are referred as WALL, FEED, CHAT in Facebook. these features in G+ is better and drawing people. The important thing is that Hangout allows up to 10 people to video chat together. Tiny feeds of buddies line up the bottom of your screen with a big image of the person talking. There's a window for text chats and a button for watching YouTube . FB's latest one-on-one video chat just doesn't make the cut.

This was an AD placed by an App developer Michael Lee Johnson on Facebook he wanted to grow his G+ circle so he tot of doing this and gave out this AD and this AD was banned by Facebook and Michael account was disabled and all his other campaigns too. he was sent a mail about disabling his account and it goes like this "Your account has been disabled. All of your adverts have been stopped and should not be run again on the site under any circumstances. Generally, we disable an account if too many of its adverts violate our Terms of Use or Advertising guidelines. Unfortunately we cannot provide you with the specific violations that have been deemed abusive. Please review our Terms of Use and Advertising guidelines if you have any further questions."

Facebook has its gut feeling on the developing G+ and many people think it would over take Facebook and personally i do too because G+ has many features under single roof so its gonna give G+ an edge over Facebook. so guys which one do you like Facebook or G+..........................

MAJOR CYBER-ATTACK ON PENTAGON

God man its the hackers again they have breached into another sensitive system again. Do you guys want to know which system they hacked its the PENTAGON defense system. Actually we don't know clearly whether it was the hackers this time the US government officials say it is an intelligence agency of another nation, which they did not disclose.

It was about 24,000 pentagon which were hacked and stole. It is said that it may have many very important and sensitive information like files including plans for missile-tracking systems, satellite navigation, surveillance drones and even jet fighters have been stolen from systems. "A great deal of it concerns our most sensitive systems, including aircraft avionics, surveillance technologies, satellite communications systems and network security protocols. These type of files are very important for a nation

US officials say that they were breached into through an defense contract company system which was done by intelligence agency of an nation the names of both the company and the nation were not disclosed and so after this huge attack they have taken few steps like aims to keep up their security and it is 19 pages document. I will give you guys a short form of it. It mainly consist of 5 points and they are

1. Recruit, educate and train "the nation's ingenuity" to help improve cybersecurity.

2. Partner with other U.S. government departments to enable a "whole-of-government" cybersecurity strategy.

3. Employ new defense operating concepts to protect DoD networks and systems.

4. Treat cyberspace as an "operational domain" with specially organized, trained, and equipped forces.

5. Build relationships with U.S. allies and international partners.

This has been one of the biggest single cyber-attack on the PENTAGON and this could cause a great destruction for US if the information goes in the hands of an terrorist organization. But it may be a cyber attack on US by other nation. so lets hope its not a terrorist attack and hope not a cyber war too and guys lets all live in peace

3G PACT BETWEEN VODOFONE, AIRTEL AND IDEA

The three of the India's biggest mobile communication networks have joined hand to provide its consumers a great experience of its 3G services since the all these service providers doesn't have its 3G service all over country so these networks when joined will provide a great banner for the 3G service.

It is an effort to reduce the cost of providing effective 3G service to its consumers. The three will now use each other’s networks through inter and intra-circle roaming arrangements where they do not have licences. “Vodafone has entered into a bilateral roaming agreement, both inter and intra-circle, with Idea and Airtel to provide 3G services to our customers in the circles where we have not built our own 3G network, in order to bring a pan-India experience of 3G services to our customers,” this was said by a spokes person from vodofone.

One of the officials said that “Bharti Airtel has already started sharing networks for 3G services with each other. For example they are not having 3G network in Gujarat and have started using Idea’s network to provide service in that area." In india there 22 telecom circles and Airtel, Aircel, Reliance have 3G spectrum licence in 13 of them and Vodofone has for 10 circles while Idea and TATA have in 9 circles. The combining of networks for offering cost effective pan india 3G service is a great leap in indian telecommunication industry.

Vodafone has started 3G services in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala through an agreement with Idea. Uttar Pradesh (West) is another circle where Vodafone plans to introduce similar services through Bharti Airtel’s network. Similarly, Bharti Airtel has entered into intra-circle roaming agreements to share Idea’s 3G network in Gujarat. Meanwhile dea has entered into an intra-circle roaming arrangement with Vodafone for introducing 3G services in Delhi and Kolkata circles while Bharti Airtel will partner Idea in providing 3G services in Bangalore and Mysore. what ever it is, if some thing helps us then its a great work to be done and i support it and hope gave you guys some good news :)............

Guys its apple again in our topic what else can we do Apple gets hanging up with a lot of controversy you know what it is now its not a new one actually the flaw in Apple iOS which was found around around may of this year which tracks its users position and saves it in an unencrypted format which can be accessed by any one if u sync your iOS device with any device and now this has caused Apple a lot of problem.

Apple quickly gave out updates for the iOS to patch this problem in the update 4.3.3 and every one did update it. But there were two lawsuits hit on it in Florida court which was filed by two Apple iPhone users and lots happened then the U.S. lawmakers called up Apple to explain about its flaw in the iOS which had a statement it is "Collecting, storing, and disclosing a consumer's location for commercial purposes without their express permission is unacceptable and would violate current law. That's why I am requesting responses to these questions to better understand Apple's data collection and storage policies to make certain sensitive information can't be left behind for others to follow."

Apple has paid up for inadvertently tracking a user's location in an iOS-based device. The company was ordered by a South Korean District Court judge in June to pay 1 million won ($945) for tracking a man's location, according to court documents. Sony's Next-Gen Portable Device 'Vita'

Sony Corp. took the wraps off its next generation portable gaming machine, PlayStation Vita, a touch-interface and motion-sensitive handheld that outdoes its workhorse Paystation Portable> and will go on sale before the winter holidays. Company executives have called the device Sony's biggest product launch since the PlayStation 3 five years ago.
The device, available for $249 for its Wi-Fi-only version, was unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the video game industry's annual convention known as E3. A version that will also have cellphone service will retail for $299, and buyers will have to subscribe to a cellular data plan.

The handheld has front and back cameras, a touchscreen in front, a touch pad on the back and two knob-like joysticks. It will enable gamers to play against people using PlayStation 3 consoles over the Internet-based Playstation Network , a system that was recently restored after being shut down due to a massive hacking attack.

Sony apologized again for the outage and said since the network was restored, activity is back to 90 percent of the pre-attack level.

The hardware comes with an accelerometer, which means it will also react to being held at different angles and being moved through the air.

"PlayStation Vita will revolutionize the portable entertainment experience," Kazuo Hirai, group chief executive officer of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., told a crowd of 6,000 at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. "The whole world is really in play."

The Vita is slightly bigger than the PlayStation Portable, which has sold more than 70 million units worldwide since its launch in 2004. The PSP will continue to be sold along with new games.

But the Vita -- code-named "NGP," or next generation portable, -- will enable gamers to do more.

A Sony staffer demonstrated a version of "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception," in which he used the familiar buttons and knobs but also touched the screen to move the Drake avatar across ledges and attack opponents in close combat.

Another game called "Reality Fighters" will allow users to take a picture and have fighting characters battle each other using objects from the real world.

Along with social games and email, Sony also unveiled a communication service it called "Party" that will enable voice and text chat during games or when using the Web browser.

Users will also be able to sense when other gamers are nearby, what games they have played recently, and enable in-game gifting of virtual items.

Sony was the latest technology company to make a big bet on connected-everywhere services, following Apple inc.'s presentation in San Francisco of its iCloud storage service, which will allow consumers to access their photos, music and documents on distant servers.

"Cloud is where everything is headed," said Ricardo Torres, editor-in-chief of GameSpot.com. "This is certainly the attempt by Sony to make sure they're not left behind."

Sony also introduced a range of new 3-D games such as "Resistance 3," a traditional shooter game, in a big push to make it a leader in the format. It is bundling the PS3 game with a pair of 3-D glasses and a 24-inch 3-D monitor for $499, a price far lower than most 3-D displays on the market.

Sony's array of new 3-D games and the Vita itself are directed at so-called core gamers, who are focused on serious action and effects.

But in a reflection of the growing popularity of games that make use of iPad and iPhone touch screens and Apple's iOS operating system, like the addictive "Angry Birds," Sony also said Monday it would put PlayStation games onto Smartphones that run on Google Inc.'s competing Android operating system.

It called the service focused on such casual gamers "PlayStation Suite" and said further details would be announced in the coming months.

"Smartphones and tablets have really created a large market for casual gaming," Hirai said in an interview after Sony's presentation. "We want to make sure we're in both areas."

EA TAKES OVER POPCAP

EA one of the gaming icons acquires another brilliant game developer guess who ya its Popcap guys. you guys dont remember this company it is the developer which developed the popular video game "Bejeweled", "Plants vs. Zombies",Peggle and Zuma. the deal is an interesting one which is about $1.3 billion.

EA acquired the 10 year old company which made a profit of $100 million last year and is expected to make the current year too the company is not a concern which develops hardcore games in disc and sells it in high price but all its profit comes from its digital platform actually it means for social networking sites. according to me about 80% of the company profit comes from the digital platform and remaining 20% comes from the retail sales. EA already acquired another digital game developer in 2009 called Playfish for a deal of $400 million. so this indicates that EA is turning its face towards the social and casual gaming and that is a great thing which all most every one are expecting except share holders of EA.

EA, which announced the acquisition after the market closed today, said that the two parties agreed to a price of $650 million in cash and $100 million in stock. In addition, PopCap is eligible to receive up to $550 million in earnouts over the next couple years if the company can hit certain revenue milestones.PopCap shareholders will receive nothing in earnouts if the company generates $91 million or less in earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) through December 2013. The company's shareholders can stand to make $550 million in earnouts if PopCap's EBIT hits $343 million or more over that period.

EA share have gone down by 3.52 percent to $23.32 in after-hours trading. The share holders of EA say that the share have gone down because EA is concentrating on casual gaming than the hardcore gaming disc which makes more money and some say that the Zynga the game developers of Facebook have announced that they are going to come out will increase the EA shares again and would give a high payoff for buying Popcap. but what ever it is we need gaming and now we can get it from EA both in casual and the hardcore way so why worrying lets start gaming guys :) .....................

PICASA AND BLOGGER CHANGES NAME

Hey you guys out there do you know Google is going to change the names of two of its much used and very interesting and amusing application sites so that it is easy for Google to include them into its new social networking site Goolge+ with many other features of Google in the site and with these two added will make it an interesting one .

The two application sites are PICASA and BLOGGER these were very interesting attraction of Google and it seems they are going to rename it as GOOGLE PHOTO and GOOGLE BLOG respectively.

Google acquired Picasa for an undisclosed sum in 2004 and in 2003 Google acquired Blogger from its owner Pyra Labs for an undisclosed sum. Although Google reported the re-branding of Picasa and Blogger within five weeks from now but it never said anything about re-branding of Youtube as does not have a Google in its name though Google was rendering its video service through Google videos it was shut down earlier this year,

According to the sources, Google's decision to re brand Picasa and Blogger is the result of its desire to "unify its brand" ahead of the public launch of its new social networking site Google+. The search company already has several services that use its Google branding, including Google Docs and Google Apps. so guys lets wait and see how Google idea turns out to be and am waiting for the complete invite for Google plus with all the features like you people :).............

THE POPE TWEETS !!!!!!!!

Ya guys its true it is the pope him self with an i pad and he is twitting man this is one awesome thing to see how an 84 year old man uses an ipad to tweet his thoughts and he certainly tweets about Jesus Christ. Pope Benedict XVI has joined the masses on Twitter, using the micro blogging service for the first time on 29th last month.

The new Vatican Portal brings together various print and broadcast news streams into one site. The social-media outreach programs are grouped on the Pope 2 you site, run by the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.but we are not so clear how much of ipad and tweeting the 84 year old man who has seen 60 years of his life as a priest can understand out of it. But any ways this is one hell of an improvement

actually they say these tweets and posting of things about Jesus in the social networking sites like Facebook and in Youtube too will draw attention of younger generation and the digital generation as per the views of the Vatican
